A-IQ Ready at PAISE workshop

On June 4, 2025, Gonzalo Salinas from NVISION participated in the PAISE workshop and represented the publication “SIMD Acceleration of Matrix-Vector Operations on RISC-V for Variable Precision Neural Networks,” demonstrating the great collaboration and joint results of A-IQ Ready partners: NVISION, INESC TEC, and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

In this research, the authors extensively reviewed existing RISC-V extensions targeting primarily the AI domain and respective compilation flows, highlighting challenges in deployment, usability, and compatibility. They further implemented and provided usable containerized environments for two of these works. The researches proposed an approach for lightweight early validation of custom instructions via source-to-source transformations, without the need for compiler modifications. The PAISE workshop

The PAISE: 7th Workshop on Parallel AI and Systems for the Edge, Co-located with IPDPS 2025, was organised in Milan, Italy. The main objective this workshop was to enable organic discussions that augment traditional paper presentations, providing a critically needed opportunity to discuss the current trends and issues, to share visions and opinions, to collect feedback and to discuss solutions covering the following areas of edge computing.
